The business district is paved with the original red brick road, giving it an ambiance of an old western town. However, you will find many modern amenities up and down the bricks. Advent Health has a primary care office located right in town. There is also a dentist office as well as a brand new Veterinarian’s office where Dr. Hoyt will take care of everything from kittens to horses. Hot Off the Press Coffee shop is a local favorite which has great coffee, as well as breakfast and lunch options. On the Bricks just opened in 2024 and specializes in Chicago style hot dogs and cuisine. Their Italian beef sandwich is amazing! They also have a relaxing beer garden in the back where they frequently have concerts during the summer months. They also have a newly renovated air bnb above them that can host up to 7 people. Wellsville Highschool and Middle School was also just completely remodeled in 2024 with state of the art facilities. It boasts a new student classrooms, a maker space, a student lounge area, huge weightroom and wrestling room. One of our specialties is building comfortable, energy efficient homes. We have built several Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) homes that make the living experience much more comfortable. They also have much lower utility bills. These homes exterior walls consist of 2 5/8th” expanded polystyrene foam on the interior and exterior wall. The core of the wall is filled with 4-12” of concrete depending on the block size or performance demands of the home. We typically do 4-8” cores. The ICF blocks are shipped in and stacked essentially like Lego’s. The blocks have plastic webs every 8” that have a stronger screw pull out strength than a 2×4. I have personally walked on boards screwed into these webs. They are extremely strong. ICF is a great addition to a slab home in tornado alley, as it essentially makes your entire home a storm shelter. The walls are rated to over 200mph winds and 100mph debris. The only difference you can notice when looking at an ICF home vs a conventional new homes Olathe KS, is that the doorframes and windowsills are thicker than usual. A 6” core block will give you a 1’ thick wall when finished. The benefit of this is that all your windows will have deeper sills. One of our ICF customers in Wellsville, Kansas told us they did not turn on their air conditioning all summer, because the home did not need it. That is truly amazing!
